Njiko Terms of Service

These Terms of Service form an agreement between you and Hitbridge Limited, the operator of Njiko, an 18+ dating app for Igbo singles worldwide. Please read them carefully.

Effective date:
[To be completed on approval]

Draft document. This document is a draft pending professional legal review. Passages marked "Requires confirmation" must be checked against Njiko's actual implementation before publication.

1. About These Terms

By creating an account or using Njiko, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Njiko. Njiko is operated by Hitbridge Limited, 4 Pickerel Court, Stowmarket, IP14 1PE, United Kingdom.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Njiko. By using Njiko you confirm that:

  • You are 18 or over and legally able to enter into this agreement.
  • You are not prohibited from using the service under applicable law.
  • You have not previously been removed from Njiko for breaking these Terms.

Requires confirmation: Whether users convicted of certain offences (for example, sexual or violent offences) are expressly excluded.

3. Registration and Account Security

You must provide accurate, current information when you register and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for activity on your account. Tell us promptly at management@hitbridge.org if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Identity and Age Verification

You must verify your email address and phone number, and complete identity, age and liveness verification through our provider Sumsub using a supported government-issued ID and a live face check. We may limit access to features until verification is complete, and we may suspend accounts where verification fails or appears fraudulent. Verification reduces risk but does not guarantee that every member is who they claim to be.

Before starting identity verification, Njiko requests a separate, affirmative consent decision for identity and biometric verification. You can decline or cancel before verification begins, but identity verification is required to access Njiko's matching features. Verification may involve processing identity-document information and facial images through Sumsub, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Requires confirmation: Confirm the exact list of features restricted before successful verification and ensure the description matches the released application.

5. Authentic Profiles and Respectful Communication

  • Use your real identity and only photos of yourself.
  • Keep only one account.
  • Be honest about your relationship intentions.
  • Treat other members with courtesy and respect, including their cultural and personal choices.

6. Prohibited Behaviour

You must not:

  • Harass, threaten, bully, stalk, intimidate or abuse anyone.
  • Post or send hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit or violent content, or content involving minors.
  • Impersonate anyone or misrepresent your identity, age or circumstances.
  • Scam, defraud or solicit money, gifts or financial information from other members.
  • Advertise, promote commercial services, or solicit for prostitution or escort services.
  • Share another person's private information without consent.
  • Use bots, scrapers or automated means, or attempt to interfere with or gain unauthorised access to the service.
  • Use Njiko for any unlawful purpose.

7. Reporting, Blocking and Moderation

You can report or block users from a Discovery profile or a conversation using the top-right menu. We review reports and may remove content, issue warnings, restrict features, or suspend or remove accounts at our discretion, in line with these Terms and applicable law.

Requires confirmation: Whether there is a process for users to appeal moderation decisions.

8. Your Content and Licence

You keep ownership of the content you post, such as photos, profile text and messages. You grant Hitbridge Limited a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce and adapt that content only as needed to operate, provide, secure and improve Njiko. This licence applies for as long as the relevant content is retained for providing and operating Njiko, and may continue for retained content where necessary for legitimate safety, legal, dispute-resolution or audit purposes, subject to applicable law and the Privacy Policy. You confirm that you have the rights to any content you post and that it complies with these Terms.

Requires confirmation: Whether any user content (such as profile photos) is ever used in Njiko marketing; if so, separate consent should be obtained.

9. Njiko Plus Subscriptions, Billing and Renewal

Njiko Plus is an optional paid subscription offering additional features. Where subscriptions are offered, purchases are made through the supported Apple App Store or Google Play billing system, depending on your device and the availability of the subscription offering. Billing is handled by that store under its own terms. Prices, billing periods and applicable subscription features are displayed before purchase.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date, in line with the store's rules. You can restore purchases under Profile → Settings → Njiko Plus → "Restore purchases" using the same store account.

Requires confirmation: Subscription durations, prices, any free trials, and the exact features included in Njiko Plus.

Requires confirmation: That the "Restore purchases" location and label match the released application.

10. Cancelling Your Subscription

  • iPhone: Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions → Njiko → Cancel Subscription.
  • Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Njiko → Cancel subscription.

Deleting your account or uninstalling the app does not cancel your subscription.

11. Refunds and Consumer Rights

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights you have as a consumer under the laws of your country, including any right to cancel digital purchases where applicable.

12. Account Suspension and Deletion

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the safety of members or others. Where appropriate and lawful, we will tell you the reason.

You can request account deletion through Profile → Settings → Delete account by selecting "Deactivate and schedule deletion". Your account is deactivated immediately, and active sessions are revoked.

A cooling-off period, currently set to 14 days, applies. You may sign back in during this period to restore your account before the deletion deadline.

After the deadline, restoration is no longer available and the account becomes eligible for final deletion processing. Processing may take place after the deadline and may require retries.

Certain information may be deleted, pseudonymised or retained as explained in our Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription.

13. No Guarantee of Matches or Relationships

Njiko helps people meet. We do not guarantee that you will receive matches, messages, or find a relationship or marriage. Njiko's identity and age verification should not be understood as a criminal background check or a guarantee of a member's character, intentions or safety.

14. Safety Advice

You are responsible for your interactions with other members. We recommend that you:

  • Never send money or financial information to someone you have met online.
  • Keep conversations on Njiko until you feel comfortable, and protect personal details such as your home address.
  • Meet in a public place for first dates, arrange your own transport, and tell a friend or family member where you will be.
  • Stay in control of your drinks and belongings, and leave if you feel uncomfortable.
  • Report suspicious or abusive behaviour in the app, and contact local emergency services if you are in danger.

15. Intellectual Property

Njiko, its name, logo, design, software and content (other than user content) belong to Hitbridge Limited or its licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. You must not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer or create derivative works from the app except as permitted by law.

Requires confirmation: Ownership of the Njiko brand and software, given the relationship between Hitbridge Limited and ZeeZeeLabs.

16. Service Availability and Changes

We aim to keep Njiko available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we make a change that significantly affects a paid subscription, we will give you reasonable notice where required by law.

17. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your mandatory consumer rights.

Subject to that, Hitbridge Limited is not responsible for the conduct of any member, on or off Njiko, or for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to Njiko is limited to the amount you paid for Njiko Plus in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Requires confirmation: The liability cap amount and approach, as part of professional legal review.

18. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence and may be able to bring proceedings in your local courts.

Requires confirmation: Choice of governing law and jurisdiction.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the effective date above and, for significant changes, give notice through the app or other appropriate channels. Continuing to use Njiko after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
